Ron Keith worked for the NSW Department of Education for approximately 40 years. During that time, he worked at a range of schools in the west and south-west of Sydney, finishing his teaching career at James Ruse Agricultural High School.

While at James Ruse, Ron managed the Sydney West Boys Regional team at Combined High Schools (CHS) State Championships from 1994 to 2004. He also was manager of CHS Boys Football teams from 2001 to 2004. In 2004 Ron was made a Life Member of CHS Football.

Although retired, Ron continues to be close to football in the school system. He edits the NSW CHS Football website and Facebook page, attends CHS State Carnivals, All Schools Tournaments and major State Knockout events, and has been part of the organising committee of the School Sport Australia National Championships in 2008 and 2014.
