ASA Football was launched in 2012, providing a range of coaching programs for children playing football in the Hills District and Western Sydney.

The Academy prides itself on the foundations developed by leading European football teams, systems and philosophies deployed by some of the world’s best technicians.

ASA Football teach discipline, respect and creativity with the correct physical conditioning. We believe that our players can push on to higher levels, on and off the football field, in the future.

While programs benefit players in their sporting pursuits, ASA Football has a big part to play in shaping students to lead healthy lifestyles and be both respectful and active citizens in the local community.

Who is Pat Polistina?

ASA Football was founded by former Australian Schoolboys Representative Pat Polistina who has had a long career playing and coaching juniors in Australia and Italy.

From age 11, Polistina has played football at the highest junior level including winning a State League Premiership at Redland City Devils in Queensland and the NSW Premier League Competition for Blacktown City Demons. He was also selected for the Talented Sports Program at Hills Sports School for football in his senior schooling years.

After playing for Auckland City in the prestigious FIFA Club World Club Cup, Polistina was signed by Rhyl FC in the Welsh League, before returning to Italy to accept a coaching role with junior football. The ASD Pro Calcio (ASD) academy is affiliated with the famous Italian Serie A Club AS Roma. Polistina worked with junior footballers from the ages of six to 12, helping develop a speed and agility program for ASD.

Upon returning home to Australia, Polistina was appointed coach of Oakhill College’s First XI, playing in the ISA Schools Competition.

Our Vision

To provide a comprehensive curriculum that is geared towards total player development, using world class and universally accepted training principles, for footballers of all levels.

Mission Statement

We strive to offer a quality academy, based on training principles accredited by Italian Serie A giants AS Roma, that gives young players an edge on the football pitch.

We are committed to providing opportunities, generating balance and encouraging players to learn more about themselves beyond football.

We teach students about developing the right attitude to succeed, showing respect for themselves and others, becoming effective communicators, and building character on and off the field.

We want to establish a new breed of footballers destined to be leaders on the field with technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills beyond their years.

We are dedicated to developing grassroots football in Australia by providing an environment where participants, regardless of level, can improve their individual and team skills through quality training whilst having fun.

Only once a player can completely master the ball and have an understanding of the philosophy of football; can he or she look forward to excelling in the game.

Our Values

ACTIVE

We strive to teach participants, not only disciplines in the sport of football, but in developing character qualities that will see them take their place in later years as active community members and good citizens.

TEAMWORK

We talk to our players, and give them all the tools they need to perform individually and positively for the good of the team.

RESPECT

We instill a maturity that goes beyond opponents, fellow players and coaching staff.

STYLE

We want to see our participants play fair, and adopt our training routines in competition.

ETHIC

We need our players to always work hard and transfer that attitude to all aspects of their education in football.

COMMITMENT

We know that an individual’s responsibility is a key tool for success, and we will honour those students who show their integrity to us.
